A Series of Artist Demonstrations at Left Bank Gallery Essex



LBGE is hosting a series of artist-led demonstrations during the month of August. Meet area artists and enjoy informative discussions about their techniques and subjects. All events are free and open to the public.

PAM CARLSON

Sunday, August 15th from Noon-2pm.


Artist and Essex resident, Pam Carlson, will set up her easel to paint a series of beautiful hydrangeas. Carlson specialized in painting animals of Connecticut farms and barnyards. Her subjects include chickens, cows, sheep and most recently swans on the Connecticut River. Carlson majored in Fine Art and Education and worked in commercial art before becoming an art teacher. She now paints full time; and her work is widely collected and exhibited. View a collection of her work at LBGE.




MARIA JOSEPH NACE, SP

Sunday, August 22nd from Noon-2pm


Inspired by nature and faith, Maria Joseph Nace, will describe the art and poetry featured in her book, Poet with a Brush. Nace is a Sister of Providence of Holyoke, MA. She currently teaches at Baypath College and the Elms Colle. She exhibits her work throughout New England and has published poetry for over 30 years. The profit's from Nace's sales benefit the Sisters of Providence. A selcetion of watercolors and copies of her book are now available at LBGE.



CATHERINE M. ELLIOTT

Sunday, August 29th from Noon-2pm


Contemporary Impressionist, Catherine M. Elliott, will paint outside the gallery en plein aire. Elliott's canvases depict familiar New England landscapes and emply painterly techniques similar to the Impressionist masters, often highlighting the distinctive color and light of the Connecticut shoreline. Elliott's paintings are alive with the beauty of the natural world. An accomplished and prolific painter, Elliott's work is collected and exhibited widely. She is a member of the Lyme Art Association and the Pleine Aire Painters Society. View a new selection of work is now available at LBGE.
